Vadim Kholodenko, piano
Born in 1986 in Kiev. Graduated from the Lysenko Kiev Specialized Music School, continued studying at the Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine, then at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory (class of Professor Vera Gornostaeva), including a post-graduate course. A laureate of many international competitions, including Franz Liszt International Piano Competition in Budapest, Maria Callas Competition in Athens (Grand-Prix), Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition in Salt Lake City, Sendai Competition (1st prize, 2010) and International Schubert Competition in Dortmund (2011, 1st prize). A winner of the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in Fort Worth, US (2013). A scholar of the Foundations of Vladimir Spivakov, Mstislav Rostropovich, Yuri Bashmet, “Russian Performance Art”. A laureate of the Triumph Youth Prize (2004).
Vadim Kholodenko performs on the best stages of Moscow and Saint Petersburg, in many cities in and outside Russia, collaborates with the leading orchestras. Performs in chamber programs with the participants of the ensemble “Soloists of Moscow”, “New Russian Quartet”, Alena Baeva, Alexander Buzlov, Yelena Revich, Alexander Trostyansky, Gaik Kazazyan, Rustam Komachkov, Alexei Utkin and other well-known musicians. In 2007, together with Andrei Gugnin, he created a piano duo iDuo, which one year later won the 2nd prize at the competition in San Marino and in 2010 released its first CD at Delos.
Vadim Kholodenko participated in festivals “Mozart Days in Moscow” and “Posvyaschenie” in the Tretyakov State Gallery, “Musical Olymp”, “Baltic Seasons”, “Steinway Parade” project, etc. He has CD and radio records in Hungary and Greece. An author of a number of piano arrangements. Interested in jazz improvisations.
